The Philosophy of the Equipping Ministry of Watermark Community Church
Him we proclaim, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man mature in Christ. Watermark wants to provide opportunities for everyone in our community to become more competent in life and faith. In order for this to happen, we offer a number of classes designed to better equip individuals and families for life. We recommend that some of the classes be completed before others. For instance, we require you to take the Discovery Class as a prerequisite to a number of the offered courses. We do this to be sure we are fulfilling our calling to build people as a whole, enabling each person to realize the four components of our passion as a church that our body would Believe in God, Belong to His Body, Be Trained in Truth, and Be Strong in ministry. We ask that the Discovery Class be taken prior to some of the classes so that you understand how we want to build into you through each of the four components. As you go through the discovery process, our hope is that you will see why we place such a priority on belonging (membership and community) as a prerequisite to some of our equipping classes. God's word says that a believer without a community is like an organ without a body, having no place to function and thrive. By joining a church body, you have the opportunity to grow and thrive as God intends, so that you will be loved, encouraged, equipped, empowered and challenged to be a fully devoted follower of Christ. We want to be sure that you have a group of fellow believers that you meet with consistently who will walk alongside you as you apply to your life the truths learned in equipping classes. Classes that are designated only for those who have completed the Discovery class or the Connecting Point curriculum are starred with an asterisk (*) on the spring Equipping class table. If you have questions or concerns, please contact our Pastor of Equipping, Blake Holmes, to discuss how we can best serve you.
We are truly thankful for your desire to share ministry with us and with that, become equipped to do so with competency. We look forward to interacting with you as we all seek to live a life of full devotion to Christ.
